About This Experience
The Te Pō combo is Te Puia's day and evening programmes run back to back — the guided valley walk followed by the buffet and the performance. Four hours, and the fullest single ticket at Te Puia if you only have one afternoon and evening in Rotorua.
It opens with the 90-minute guided tour of the geothermal valley: Pōhutu Geyser, the mud pools, the Kiwi Conservation Centre and the New Zealand Māori Arts and Crafts Institute. As the light goes, dinner is served at Pātaka Kai, the restaurant above the thermal field — traditionally cooked meats and vegetables, kai moana, produce and desserts.
The evening finishes as Te Pō does: the pōhiri and performance in the carved meeting house Te Aronui a Rua, then a walk back down to the geyser terrace with a hot chocolate to watch Pōhutu in the dark. It is the most expensive ticket on this site, and the reason to book it is that it removes the need to choose between Te Puia by day and Te Puia by night.
